Fox likes "The Good Guys."

I mean, they really like "The Good Guys." So much that even before the show launches this week, the network has given an additional episodic order to the show -- and has given it a firm slot on the fall sked.

Not bad for a series that was originally picked up as a cost-effective summer entry.

"The Good Guys," from creator Matt Nix, has wowed Fox execs as episodes arrive. The blue-sky, humor-filled cop actioner appears to be the right show at the right time, net execs believe.

What's more, moustaches are suddenly hip again. And Bradley Whitford sports the monster of all cool 'staches in the show.

Whitford stars as a washed-up cop paired with an eager rookie (Colin Hanks). Fox TV Studios is behind the show, which Nix exec produces with Mikkel Bondesen.

"The Good Guys" debuts this Wednesday at 9 p.m., in a special preview airing behind "American Idol." It then returns on June 7. Show will air this fall on Fridays at 9 p.m. this fall, paired with "Human Target."
